All 6th graders will be participating in the "Exercise Across America" challenge. Students will be recording their weekly exercise minutes. Then each student will convert their total minutes into miles which contribute to a team total. Each team will be traveling on a different road across United States. Team 6A will begin at the Statue of Liberty in New York City and end at the Space Needle in Settle, WA; Team 6B will start at the Liberty Bell in PA and finish at the Hoover Dam in Nevada; Team 6C will start at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida and end at the San Diego Zoo in CA. Team progress will be mapped weekly. The challenge will run for six weeks. The goal is to encourage children to become more active and understand the benefits of daily exercise.
